Marketing site and docs, measured as one funnel

For SaaS teams the marketing site, the docs and the blog are usually three properties and one funnel, and the reporting almost never reflects that.

The problem

Docs sit on a subdomain, the blog is on a different platform, and the marketing site is its own GA4 property. Search sends traffic across all three and no single view describes the journey.

What we mean

Each surface is a property under one brand. Search Console and GA4 land at page grain, so 'which docs pages are pulling search traffic' and 'what happens after' are the same query.

3-in-1

site, docs and blog as one funnel

How it works

Start to answer

  1. 01

    Connect every surface

Site, docs and blog, whichever properties they use.

  2. 02

    One brand

All three roll up, without losing the page detail.

  3. 03

    Ask across them

Search entry on docs, session behaviour on the site.

  4. 04

    Track the shift

When docs start out-earning the blog, you see it.

Before and after

What actually changes

The docs surprise

Before

Nobody reports on docs traffic because it lives in a different property.

After

It is in the same index, and it turns out to be a third of organic entry.

Multi-product

Before

Two products, two sites, two reporting processes.

After

Two brands in one workspace, ranked side by side.

Subdomains as first-class

Docs are not an afterthought.

  • Multiple properties per brand
  • Page-grain across all of them
  • URLs normalised

Content, ranked

Which pages actually pull.

  • Query and page movers
  • Entry versus engagement
  • Country breakdowns

Multi-product ready

One workspace, many products.

  • Ranked brand index
  • Shared board templates
  • Group-level export

What it does not measure

There is no product analytics here: no signups, activations or retention. It stops at the site boundary. Joining it to product data is a warehouse project, and pretending otherwise would be selling you the easy half as if it were the whole.

In short

The three surfaces search actually sends traffic to are finally read together.
